EurAsEc slaps duty on Ukrainian ferrosilicon manganese
MOSCOW, Jun 6 (PRIME) -- The Eurasian Economic Commission (EurAsEc) has imposed a five-year 26.35% anti-dumping duty on ferrosilicon manganese from Ukraine, the commission said in a statement on Monday.
Ukraine is the key supplier of this alloy to markets of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU), or Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia, and Kyrgyzstan, the authority said.
The share of the Ukrainian ferrosilicon manganese amounted to 77.4% in 2011–2013 and rose to 84.1% in January–June 2014. The price for the Ukrainian product was lower than the weighted average of its competitors from third counties and by about 17% lower than of ferrosilicon manganese made in the EEU in the period from January 2011 till June 2014.
Ukraine tripled the duty on imports of Russian ammonia nitrate in July 2014, to 36.03% from 11.91% and prolonged the duty for five years. Russia initiated disputes in May 2015 but has reached no compromise so far.
